Mission University
Building Global community
Featured Locations
Mission University offers customized clinical rotations through service-learning experiences that college and high school students develop, specifically aligned to their majors and/or areas of study interest. Professionals may also join our humanitarian relief programs to extend their leadership experience and impact a global community in need. Each program includes a portfolio project, certification, and is eligible for academic credit at the participant's home institution.
Each location offers a unique and lasting experience, furthering academic and professional careers while purposefully serving communities in need. Our students learn and serve alongside experienced faculty, healthcare missionaries, college administrators, and other certification program participants while gaining valuable, global experience and serving the needs of disadvantaged and underserved populations.
United States
We collaborate with various nonprofit and healthcare-related organizations to offer programs on a variety of health topics to community groups and public and private universities. We partner and collaborate with many different agencies, hospitals & health organizations, non-profits, educational institutions, and businesses in our community to promote health, health equity and reduce health-and-education-related disparities.
Peru
Approximately 30 miles from Lima, the capital of Peru, in the foothills of the Andes mountains is located a home for impoverished and ill children. We collaborate with a specialty rehabilitation home to serve the children of this developing community. The home receives sick children whose parents cannot afford to buy them required medicines or treatments to restore them to health.
Bali
In the capital city of Denpasar as well as in remote villages outside of the city, the residents are very poor and most villages lack education, access to clean water and even electricity. Due to the lack of jobs and opportunities, men from the villages must also leave to find jobs in the tourism sector, leaving their wives and children. We collaborate with members of the local community to sponsor a number of projects ranging from providing food, housing improvements, clothing, transportation, and health and wellbeing education and services.
Thailand
Mission University has partnered with an international medical humanitarian relief NGO that operates full-time in Thailand, in the capital city and surrounding rural areas of Bangkok. You will provide supportive care and patient education to patients and their families. The World Health Organization reports that Thailand continues to have high infant mortality rates, with widespread lack of access to women’s healthcare.
ECUADOR
The city and capital of Ecuador is situated on the lower slopes of the Andean valley at an elevation of 9,350 feet, just south of the Equator. Health disparities prevalent in Ecuador are mainly due to environmental conditions, geographical location, and lack of health care. Specific health problems include infant mortality, acute respiratory infection, diarrhea, dengue fever, malaria, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, health problems due to smoking, and malnutrition.
